SERIALS

The Library holds about 800 serial titles, with over 50 English language and 110 Chinese language current journals, as well as several from Japan and Korea. Coverage naturally focuses on the history of science, and includes the most comprehensive collection of traditional Chinese medicine journals from China in Europe. The archaeology collection also contains several difficult to find items.

Holdings can be found on-line in Newton, the Cambridge University OPAC. Holdings can be accessed either through the Universal Catalogue or the Affiliated Institutions catalogue.

A general guide to searching for searching Newton can be found here.

Chinese serials are catalogued using non-concatenated Pinyin romanisation, that means that syllables are not aggregated, e.g zi ran ke xue shi yan jiu. Hyphens and capitalisation may be ignored when searching.

Serial records are currently in the process of being upgraded, and a proportion of the Chinese language serials are being converted to digital access only.

THE LIBRARY IS OPEN from 10.00 to 16.30 on weekdays. Visits are by appointment only. Books may only be consulted in the Library, and are not borrowable under any circumstances.
