DONATIONS

Many of the books in the Library have been donated by individuals and institutions in East Asia and from around the world. They may be individual monographs, large sets of volumes, or off-prints. The list of  donors is long, but, for example, recent gifts have included a 14 volume set of reprinted rare Chinese medical texts held in Japanese libraries, a set of the Korean Journal for the History of Mathematics, a 3 volume collected works of the Physicist Yoshio Nishina, 50 MPhil and PhD dissertations on the history of science from China Science and Technology University, and an annotated copy of the Daoist Patrology, the Daozang.

We are extremely grateful to all those who support the Library in this way, and would like to encourage all scholars working in the field to send their publications here to help maintain the collection as a world-class resource.

THE LIBRARY IS OPEN from 10.00 to 16.30 on weekdays. Visits are by appointment only. Books may only be consulted in the Library, and are not borrowable under any circumstances.

To enquire about using the Library, please contact the Librarian, John P.C. Moffett, at the address on  the home page, or by e-mail to: jm10019@cam.ac.uk
